After every trip and memorable event, I end up collecting a pile of tickets, brochures, wristbands, and papers—small artefacts from different experiences. I never know what to do with them and don’t want to throw them out. A few years ago, when I was looking back at photos from my time studying in Milan in 2019, I came across a rain jacket on display at an exhibition during fashion week. The jacket was made of clear plastic with white thread outlining small geometric squares. In each square, there was a different circular branded item—what looks like either a drink seal or a card. This inspired me to begin my own interpretation of the idea. I’ve started cutting a circle from each artefact, placing it between two sheets of clear plastic, and sewing a square around it. This is an ongoing process.
